Presentations: Anne Bowen is the author of eight picture books. Her book, Tooth Fairy's First Night, has been nominated for several awards including the Nebraska Golden Sower Award, the Georgia Picture Book Award and the Nevada Young Reader Award. What Do Teachers Do (after YOU leave school)? was a Society of School Librarians International Honor Book, 2006 and a Children's Book Council Children's Choice Award nominee in 2007. Her latest book, I Know An Old Teacher is a Children's Book Committee at Bank Street College of Education Best Book of the Year. Anne was the recipient of the 1996-97 Utah English/Language Arts Teacher of the Year Award. She attended for summer writing institutes at Teachers College, Columbia University, New York.

Audiences: Anne has spoken to parents, teachers, librarians, and students ranging from grades K - 8. With older students, she will discuss having a writing career, where she gets her ideas, her writing process and the creation of a picture book from start to finish. Anne has also written several chapter books and is in the process of writing a YA novel. For younger students, Anne will talk about keeping a writer's notebook, living like a writer, how she "grows" an idea from seed to a finished project.

Meet the Author Visit: In her "Meet the Author" presentations, Anne will introduce herself to the students, read from one of her books and answer questions. Fee is $45.00

In-Depth Visit Length: 45 minutes to an hour

In-Depth Visit Cost: $150.00

Prerequisites: An author visit is much more exciting for students when they are familiar with the author's books beforehand.
