Born in Poland and raised in the United States, Anna Staniszewski grew up loving stories in both Polish and English. She was named a Writer-in-Residence at the Boston Public Library and a winner of the PEN New England Susan P. Bloom Discovery Award. Currently, Anna lives outside of Boston with her husband and their adopted black Labrador, Emma.When she’s not writing, Anna spends her time teaching, reading, and challenging unicorns to games of hopscotch. She's the author of the My Very UnFairy Tale Life series and the Dirt Diary series, both released by Sourcebooks Jabberwocky, as well as the forthcoming Switched at First Kiss series and the picture book Power Down, Little Robot.

Anna's interactive program is designed to give students an overview of the writing/publishing process, a glimpse into where Anna gets her inspiration, and a chance for students to ask questions.

Anna's presentations are best suited for grades 3-6 though programs for younger or older students can be arranged.

A technical run through prior to presentation is recommended.
Students will have read (or have read aloud to them) the first chapter of My Very UnFairy Tale Life or The Dirt Diary.
Students may prepare questions in advance.
